Student Ministry / Janette
Janette Elie Hatoum is the newest member of our student ministry and we are sponsoring her through World Vision! Janette was born on March 21, 1995 and currently lives with her parents and brother in Lebanon. Her father is a policeman and her mother takes care of the household. Despite their efforts, it is difficult for them to meet the needs of their family. Janette is not in school right now, she stays at home and helps with the house cleaning. She enjoys drawing pictures and is in satisfactory health.
In their urban community, families live in two story apartments but very close together on narrow winding streets and constructed of bricks and cement. The local diet is varied; meat and fruit are inexpensive and bread is a staple food. Temperatures vary with the season, hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The crowded community is surrounded by beautiful mountains and cedars.
Our student ministry has committed to raise $30 each month. World Vision will use this to help provide Janette and her community with improved health care, hygiene, and an opportunity to hear the good news about Jesus. We will write her and send her gifts through out the year. We will be posting these letters and other news about Janette in the youth building.
