Why Church Membership?
There is a power in belonging. To lock arms with other people in a common task with a common passion is a powerful endeavor. When you become a member of First Baptist Church of Prosper you are proclaiming that you want to be a part of God's miraculous movement in this congregation and are willing to do your part to see His glory shine from this place. Membership is a willingness to be accountable and hold others accountable to participating in God's purposes for this place. It is, at it's core, belonging!
Why Baptism?
Baptism is an important and essential step in the life of the believer because it communicates what Christ has done for each of us. By allowing yourself to be placed under the water you are proclaiming that Christ has done away with the old person that you were before you met Him and that He has brought to life a new person who has been forgiven by Him. It communicates to other believers and to the world your thanks for the work of Christ in your life and declares union with the rest of His church.
